Jake Toolson’s stint with the G League’s Salt Lake City Stars didn’t last long, thanks to an injury.
The former BYU and UVU guard was waived by the team Sunday due to a season-ending right foot injury. In a corresponding move, the Stars signed guard Dakarai Allen.
The Stars, the G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, started play at the G League’s bubble in Orlando last week.
Toolson played in one game, starting Salt Lake City’s opener against Erie on Feb. 10. He played 19 minutes, scored five points and had two rebounds and two assists for the Stars in a 117-98 loss to the BayHawks. Toolson played Cheap Udoka Azubuike Jersey against his former BYU teammate, Yoeli Childs, who also started and had 11 points, five rebounds, two steals and an assist for Erie.
“We’re all just learning on the fly and trying to do the best that we can,” Toolson told the Deseret News last week in the lead-up to the G League’s season. “We’re all very motivated to to get out there and compete and win some games.”
Udoka Azubuike out indefinitely for Utah Jazz with severe ankle sprain
In the season’s opening week, the Stars have had multiple significant injuries. Jazz first-round pick Udoka Azubuike suffered a severe Cheap Jake Toolson Jersey right ankle sprain near the end of the Stars’ first game, and the injury will keep him out indefinitely.
Milwaukee Bucks coach gives praise for Sam Merrill, looks forward to his continued development in G League
Toolson missed the opportunity to play another familiar face: on Monday, the Stars play the Memphis Hustle.
