SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Deron Williams shed more light on his departure from Utah in an interview with The Ringer’s Logan Murdock. Joined by former Jazz teammate Raja Bell, Williams explained that despite his best efforts to attract star talent to the Jazz, other players didn’t want to come to Utah.

“I had been around all the best players in the world, I played in two Olympics,” Williams said. “And I was trying to recruit everybody. I’m talking Wholesale Utah Jazz Jerseys to everybody. Nobody’s coming to Utah.”

Williams was drafted by the Jazz in 2005 and spent six seasons with the team before being traded to the New Jersey Nets in Cheap Deron Williams Jersey exchange for current Jazzman Derrick Favors and then All-Star guard Devin Harris.

“I’m a really good player at the time, but number one, I was a point guard, you don’t win championships with point guards, ” Williams said. “You need pieces, we needed other pieces. And I saw the writing on the wall, nobody is going to come to Utah.”

The All-Star guard said he let then Jazz owner Greg Miller know he had intentions of leaving the team at the end of his contract, effectively setting Cheap Derrick Favors Jersey a deadline for the Jazz to trade him, or let him leave in free-agency empty-handed.

But for Jazz fans who fear Williams’s comments may be prescient even today, you need not worry. The former two-time gold medalist Cheap Jerry Sloan Jersey said the league has changed from his time in Utah.

“I felt like I had to go somewhere else at the time because that’s how the NBA was,” Williams said. “It’s not like it is now.”

Williams and Bell also added detail to Cheap Raja Bell Jersey the night Jerry Sloan coached his last game with the Jazz and the star’s sudden exit from Utah.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The NBA trade deadline is Thursday at 3 pm ET and though it seems unlikely for the top team in the league, the Utah Jazz could choose to make a move that welcomes a new player to the roster.

Before facing the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night, Jazz coach Quin Snyder discussed the deadline, and the nuances when Custom Utah Jazz Jerseys welcoming a new player mid-season.

“I don’t pay attention in my day-to-day life to the trade deadline,” Snyder said. “I know it’s going on, I couldn’t give you the exact date. I don’t know whether it’s Saturday or Tuesday.”

Rather than focusing on the deadline, Snyder insisted he’s more concerned with improving the team he already has Cheap Mike Conley Jersey on the floor. But, included in that roster is newcomer Ersan Ilyasova who signed with the team during the All-Star break, and is working to adjust to the Jazz system.

For players like Ilyasova who join a team that has a half-season under its belt and a well-established identity, Snyder said he does Cheap Jordan Clarkson Jersey try to take one consistent approach to how he welcomes players to the roster.

“One of the key things is to really make sure that their identity as a player, you’re finding a way to have that be expressed,” Snyder said. “And that provides them a comfort level.”

Ilyasova hasn’t seen the same floortime as other midseason acquisitions like Jae Crowder who was traded to the team in February of 2018 and played 28 minutes in his first game with the Jazz, or Jordan Clarkson who joined the roster in December of 2019 and was the team’s go-to sixth man the moment he Cheap Ersan Ilyasova Jersey stepped on the floor.

The #UtahJazz have great chemistry right now and that’s something you don’t want to mess with. The addition of @Ersan Ilyasova to the roster won’t affect that according to Quin Snyder. He fits the Jazz style and adds depth and experience to the bench.#TakeNote l @KSLSports pic.twitter.com/FUisMLa2hI

But Snyder said he tries to handle players with caution, whether they’re brought along slowly like Ilyasova, or thrown immediately into the fire.

“There’s always things that you want to try to tweak, but I think at least for myself, you want to be careful not to try to reinvent someone as a player.”

That isn’t to say the Jazz haven’t transformed or improved players under Snyder’s guidance, as Clarkson has become the best sixth man in the NBA while veteran point guard Mike Conley made his first All-Star game a record 13-years into his NBA career, but that the changes can be brought upon gradually without trying to reinvent the player themselves.

“Jordan’s been more aggressive from the three-point line, he’s at the rim finishing a lot, his shot profile is something that we’ve talked about that he’s embraced,” Snyder said. “But that wasn’t something that we talked about last January or February. I just wanted him to continue to attack and I didn’t want to change his mindset.”

So as the Jazz bring Ilyasova along, and whether a new player is added tomorrow at the trade deadline, fans can expect Snyder to make their identity as players a priority as they transition into the team’s rotation, rather than radically changing the player’s role to fit the team.

who almost looked like Dante Exum Jersey a basketball player this season

The Utah Jazz (27-9) had a fun showing at the all-star break, with Mike Conley almost edging out Steph Curry in the 3 point contest and fans feeling great about having the most representation in the all-star game. Now, it’s back to business in the second half of the season, taking on the Houston Rockets (11-24) again at home. Holding onto the league-worst 14 game losing streak, the Rockets don’t get any breaks as they are on the receiving end of a back-to-back in altitude against the league’s best team after a 20 point drubbing from the Kings. It would be shocking if last year if you heard any of these situations, wouldn’t it?

On paper, the Rockets shouldn’t be this bad. John Wall, who looks to have recovered well from his unfortunate achilles injury, has been playing well. Christian Wood looks like an early pick for MIP, thriving in his new role. The Rockets have perennial Jazz-killers Eric Gordon and PJ Tucker, as well as previously injured all-star Victor Oladipo. They were trying to rehabilitate DeMarcus Cousins, who almost looked like a basketball player this season. And a familiar Aussie friend continues to be unfulfilled, injured potential on the Rockets bench (Dante Exum, if you’re wondering).

But reality is far worse. The Rockets have 8 players confirmed to be injured or sidelined, not including Victor Oladipo, who will likely be out on this back-to-back as he continues to come back from injury, or PJ Tucker, who will no longer Cheap Dante Exum Jersey be part of the team as the Rockets look to trade him. Wall sat out against the Kings with a knee injury, Wood has been out for about a month with two consecutive ankle sprains, and Eric Gordon suffered a groin injury against the Kings. Former small forward starter Danuel House has been out with a knee injury, while bench players Chris Clemons, Rodions Kurucs, David Nwaba, and Dante Exum have various ailments.

If Victor Oladipo doesn’t play for Houston tomorrow because of back to back maintenance then the Rockets leading scorer, rebounding Cheap Mike Conley Jersey and assist man of available players is Jea’Sean Tate

— David Locke (@DLocke09) March 12, 2021
Note that Jae’Sean Tate is averaging 9.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game in 22 starts and 34 games played. The next best available player would probably be Sterling Brown, with 7.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.
